The company name is derived from the Greek word Phyto- , meaning plants, and the Latin suffix - ation, meaning an action or process, and that, in essence, is what we do! The name confirms the commitment of the company in combining the use of natural plant materials with a forward looking innovative approach using the latest processes and techniques.

The company was formed by a group of investors with a wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry who identified a need for a new hi-tech, high quality approach to producing plant extracts.

The company moved into its new production facility in Caernarfon in October 2006. With views stretching from the Irish Sea, over the Lleyn Peninsula , and up to the mountains of Snowdonia, the facility is ideally located to attract high calibre staff looking for improved quality of life, and yet is close to the excellent transport links of the A55 Expressway, and North Wales Coast railway. The unit is equipped with state of the art milling technology and a comprehensively equipped laboratory, using HPLC and other techniques to ensure that exacting quality standards are achieved and maintained.

The company is committed to producing quality products, all to the appropriate standards, and to putting into place the staff, systems and ethos to ensure that every customer receives the best possible service. In addition, the company has adopted a contemporary Environmental Policy to reduce energy consumption, minimise waste and maximise recycling and responsible disposal of by-products, and to minimise the impact of its operations on the environment.
